Emily Upston is a passionate violinist with a decade of teaching experience. From her studio in Auckland, New Zealand, Emily guides students from beginners to junior regional orchestra levels. 

Completing violin exams at 15 and armed with a 2001 degree from Wellington’s Victoria University Music School, Emily recognised the need for contemporary teaching methods.Together with husband Andre Upston, a seasoned RNZ recording engineer, they created The Violin Club series.

Andre Upston has recorded most of the country’s top musical acts and engineered and produced hundreds of broadcasts for RNZ. From DJing to programming, to composing and mixing, Andre adds the vital ingredients to their collaborative project. Together they have crafted three progressive and entertaining books that provide the perfect launching pad for a beginner violinist.
